I’m Chukwuma Onyeije, MD — a maternal-fetal medicine physician, developer, and writer.
It starts with the work.
My interest in software began with clinical workflows. I wanted to understand why the systems physicians use work the way they do — and eventually realized that learning to build software was one way to participate in designing better ones.
Medicine gives that work a starting point. Clinical tools need to make sense in the context of real care: the questions people ask, the information they need, and the decisions that remain theirs to make.
Today, my projects span open maternal-fetal medicine resources, clinical software, and experiments with AI agents. Through Doctors Who Code, I write about that learning process and the relationship between physicians and technology.
